I take the opportunity of posting this photograph of the Balder Viking, partly because this fine vessel and its two sister ships, which are KMAR808s seem to have been purchased by the Canadian government for use as icebreakers in the far North, and there are number of pictures of them in Canadian Coast Guard colours in the maritime media. The other reason for including it is that it is a wonderful photo which won a competition I held years ago and which graces the pages of my book "The History of the Supply Ship". I have worked with these ship in their rig moving role, and for their conversion into icebreakers apparently a notch is strapped on to the stern and a helideck added to the main deck.
