Ships which feature elsewhere on this site often are not ever seen on "Pic of the Day", so here is the Bourbon Dolphin photographed shortly after it entered service  October 2006. In April 2007 it was to capsize during anchor-handling operations at the semi-submersible Transocean Rather, with the loss of eight lives. The full analysis of the Norwegian Royal Commission report can be found elsewhere on the site. In the foreground is a three legged jack-up which was doing work in the channel at Aberdeen for months,; a risky business I though. It was never hit but once a leg fell off.

Photo taken in October 2006 and posted here on 26th November 2018.
