Here is photo of Ninian Central taken in about 1978. I was looking for something else an it popped up on my screen. Actually is is also one of the many photos in "The History of the Supply Ship" because in the centre of it is the Maersk Beater, one of eight 8000 bhp anchor-handling tugs built by Maersk in the mid 70s. We all envied them because the short working deck made dealing with anchors much easier. The other object in the photo is the Viking Piper, then the largest pipe-layer in the world. It was subsequently sold and became the LB200 I think.

Photo taken in 1978 by Victor R. Gibson and posted here on 31st October 2018.
