An unusual view of the wind turbine installation vessel the MPI Resolution, on its way into Ijmuiden. It is now one of many vessels carrying out this task, but when it arrived un UK as the Mayflower Resolution back in 2003 it was unique, and did not have much work. This resulted, I think, in the original owner going broke. The next owner also had trouble finding work for it, and at one time my company was employed to write a safety case for it so that it could be used as an accommodation unit for platform maintenance. Actually stuff needed doing before it could gain approval for the role and before we had finished enthusiasm for windmills had increased. It has been owned by Vroon for years, and this year was purchased by van Oord.
