The very unusual standby vessel Putford Puffin leaving Ijmuiden the other day. Boston Putford have collected a large fleet of craft, most of then former platform ships, but this one was once the Smit Barracuda, built in 1970 and was employed back in the 1980s as an air diving ship, used to house divers who jumped over the stern and cleaning the legs of the platforms in the southern North Sea. Mussel bashing they called it.
