Here is the VS 483 Toisa Intrepid alongside a semi-submersible out in the North Sea. It is discharging liquids to the rig, and the man driving the ship is maintaining station either using a joystick, or else a DP1 system. At the time it was only a year old in 1999 but now times have changed and only the other day the company Sealion filed for Chapter 11, and the ships have begun to be auctioned off. Either this ship or its sister the Toisa Invincible has been auctioned off for $500,000. The class, some of which were purchased by other owners were the last platform ships built on the River Clyde, by Fergusons.

Photograph taken in 1999 by me on an oil rig and published here on 17th December 2018.
