Here is the impressive Skandi Acu, going to work in the Lulu Field offshore Brazil. It is one of a bewildering number of pipe layers working out there, this one fitted with a Huisman pipe lay tower rated for 650 tons and capable of operating in water depths of 3000 metres. The ship itself is a VARD 3 05 146 metres long with accommodation for 120 people. If you look closely at the tower you can see that there is the termination of a flow line or something similar at the head of the tower.
