The UT731 CD could now be  seen as a mid range anchor-handler with 20,000 bhp available and storage for vast quantities of large diameter wire, or fibre rope. They have over 200 tonnes bollard pull available and drums that can pull 500 tonnes on the first wrap. Farstad, the well known Norwegian company operated all eight which have been built so far, the first entering service in 2009 and the last in 2014. At the time of writing in May 2016 several are laid up somewhere.
