I just chose a random file from by 10,000 available offshore ship photos and there we are with the Grampian Commander, which I photographed when it was still in the builder's yard in Spain as I was either arriving or departing on a ferry. This small ship is typical of the modern UK standby boat, the photo was taken in 2005 - time flies when you're having fun- and so the ship is now 12 years old, and doubtless is still doing its stuff with a commendable level of efficiency. Checking out the internet it apparently did not enter service until 2009. So maybe time has not flown as fast as I thought.
